This guideline is subject to change as technologies and scholarly norms continue to evolve.
AUTHORS’ RESPONSIBILITES
Authors warrant that
their manuscript is their original work, that it has not been published before
and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Parallel submission
of the same paper to another journal or proceeding constitutes a misconduct and
eliminates the manuscript from consideration by the Proceedings - The First International Conference on Business,
Management, and Economics Engineering Future-BME 2024 (Forging the Future:
Pioneering Approaches in Business, Management and Economics Engineering to
Overcome Emerging Global Challenges).
The Authors also warrant
that the manuscript is not and will not be published elsewhere (after the
publication in the Proceedings - The First International Conference on Business,
Management, and Economics Engineering Future-BME 2024 (Forging the Future:
Pioneering Approaches in Business, Management and Economics Engineering to
Overcome Emerging Global Challenges) in any other language without the consent
of the Editor.
In case a submitted
manuscript is a result of a research project, or its previous version has been
presented at a conference in the form of an oral presentation (under the same
or similar title), detailed information about the project, the conference, etc.
shall be provided.
It is the responsibility
of each author to ensure that papers submitted to Proceedings–The First International Conference on Business,
Management, and Economics Engineering Future-BME 2024 (Forging the Future:
Pioneering Approaches in Business, Management and Economics Engineering to
Overcome Emerging Global Challenges), are written with ethical standards in
mind. Authors affirm that the article contains no unfounded or unlawful
statements and does not violate the rights of third parties. The Publisher will
not be held legally responsible should there be any claims for compensation.
Reporting standards
Authors must present
their research accurately and objectively. Underlying data should be
represented clearly, and sufficient detail must be provided for replication by
others. The deliberate presentation of false claims is a violation of ethical standards.
Authors are exclusively responsible for the contents of their submissions and
must make sure that they have permission from all involved parties to make the
data public.
Authors wishing to
include figures, tables or other materials that have already been published
elsewhere are required to obtain permission from the copyright holder(s). Any
material received without such evidence will be assumed to originate from the
authors.
Authorship of the Paper
Only individuals who
have made substantial contributions to the research should be listed as
authors. All co-authors must have agreed to the final version and submission.
If persons other than authors were involved in important aspects of the
research project and the preparation of the manuscript, their contribution
should be acknowledged in a footnote or the Acknowledgments section.
Acknowledgment of Sources
Authors are required to
appropriately cite all sources that have influenced their work. Failure to
properly acknowledge sources may constitute plagiarism. Information received in
a private conversation or correspondence with third parties, in reviewing
project applications, manuscripts and similar materials, must not be used
without the express written consent of the information source. Plagiarism Plagiarism, where
someone assumes another's ideas, words, or other creative expressions as one's
own, is a clear violation of scientific ethics. Plagiarism may also involve a
violation of copyright law, punishable by legal action. Plagiarism includes the
following:
· Word for word, or almost word for word copying, or purposely paraphrasing
portions of another author's work without clearly indicating the source or
marking the copied fragment (for example, using quotation marks);
· Copying equations, figures or tables from someone else's paper without
properly citing the source and/or without permission from the original author
or the copyright holder.
Please note that all
submissions are thoroughly checked for plagiarism. Any paper which shows
obvious signs of plagiarism will be automatically rejected. In case plagiarism
is discovered in a paper that has already been published by the journal, it
will be retracted in accordance with the procedure described below under
Retraction policy.
Authors should not submit work that has already been
published, nor reuse sections of their earlier publications without proper
citation. However, submitting an expanded version that includes new
contributions is acceptable for showcasing research or projects at different
stages of development. In all instances, prior work must be appropriately
referenced.
Disclosure and Conflict of interest
Authors should disclose any financial or other
substantive conflicts of interest that could affect the interpretation of their
manuscript.
Fundamental errors in published works
If authors discover a significant error or
inaccuracy in their published work, they are obliged to promptly notify the Editor
or publisher and cooperate in retracting or correcting the paper.
REVIEWERS’ RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviewers play an important role by assisting editors in
making editorial decisions and supporting authors in enhancing their papers.
They evaluate manuscripts based on their alignment with the scope of the
proceedings, the significance of the topic and methods used, the originality
and scientific importance of the content, the clarity of presentation, and the
quality of the scholarly references.
Reviewers are expected to maintain confidentiality
regarding manuscripts, offer objective and constructive feedback, highlight any
relevant published work that has not been cited, and report any ethical
concerns—such as plagiarism or duplicate publication—to the editor. If
reviewers become aware of a simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to
another journal or conference proceedings, they must inform the editor.
Reviewers must not have any conflicts of interest related
to the research, authors, or funding sources. Should any conflicts arise, they
are required to disclose them to the editor immediately.
Any invited reviewer who feels unqualified to assess a
manuscript or is unable to provide a timely review must promptly inform the
editor.
Reviews should be impartial and free of personal
criticism. Reviewers should present their evaluations clearly and back them
with reasoned arguments.
PEER REVIEW
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
All submitted manuscripts undergo peer review by experts
selected from the Scientific Committee or, when appropriate, external
reviewers, based on the topic, title, and subject area of the paper. Peer
review supports the Editor in making editorial decisions and, through
communication with the authors, also helps improve the quality of the
manuscript.
Promptness
The peer review process is generally completed within one
month. Referees who feel unqualified to evaluate a manuscript or unable to
complete a review within the requested time frame should promptly notify the
Editor and decline the invitation.
Selection and Role of Reviewers
The Editor selects reviewers at their discretion,
ensuring they have expertise in the relevant subject matter. Reviewers who have
conflicts of interest—arising from competitive, collaborative, or personal
relationships with the authors, companies, or institutions associated with the
manuscript—must decline the invitation to review.
Reviewers are expected to remain anonymous throughout the
entire process. They act independently and are unaware of each other's
identities. If there is a discrepancy between the two reviewers'
recommendations (e.g., one accepts, one rejects), the Editor may appoint
additional reviewers to reach a decision. During the evaluation process,
authors may be asked to submit additional information (such as raw data) to
support the assessment of the manuscript’s academic quality. All additional
materials will be treated confidentially and will not be used for personal
gain.
Quality Control and Objectivity
The Editorial Team ensures that reviews meet reasonable
quality standards. If authors raise convincing concerns about the quality or
objectivity of a review, the Editor will carefully reassess the review and, if
necessary, seek evaluations from additional reviewers. Special care is taken to
guarantee that all reviews uphold academic rigor and impartiality.
Double-Blind Peer Review
Following the acceptance of a conference abstract, full
papers are subjected to a double-blind peer review. In this process, neither
the authors nor the reviewers are aware of each other's identities, ensuring an
unbiased assessment. During the main review phase, the Editor forwards each
manuscript to two experts in the relevant field.
Reviewers use an evaluation form that includes a
checklist to ensure that all key aspects of the manuscript are properly
assessed. In the final section of the form, reviewers provide detailed comments
and suggestions to help authors strengthen their work; these remarks are shared
with the authors anonymously.
Reviewer Feedback and Author Responsibility
Peer reviewers critically assess the manuscript
and often recommend improvements. Although authors are not obligated to accept
all suggestions, they are strongly encouraged to address reviewers' comments
and explain their research decisions when maintaining their original
conclusions or methodology.
PROCEDURES FOR ADDRESSING UNETHICAL BEHAVIOR
Investigation Process
Unethical behavior is treated with the utmost
seriousness. In cases where misconduct is suspected, the editorial team will
follow the guidelines and procedures recommended by the Committee on
Publication Ethics (COPE), using their flowcharts and processes. If misconduct
is confirmed, appropriate measures will be taken, such as issuing a correction
or retracting the published work.
be taken, such as issuing a correction or retracting the published work.
Minor Misconduct
Instances of minor misconduct will be handled
directly and discreetly, without the involvement of external parties. Examples
include:
Major Misconduct
When serious misconduct is identified, the Editor, together with the
Scientific Committee and, if needed, external experts, will determine the
appropriate course of action based on the available evidence. Possible actions
include:
Guidelines and Standards
In all cases of unethical behavior, the Editor
will adhere to the principles and recommendations provided by the Committee on
Publication Ethics (COPE): http://publicationethics.org/resources/.
RETRACTION POLICY
An article will be retracted if it is determined to
breach academic or ethical standards, such as cases of plagiarism, data
falsification, or critical errors that undermine the validity of the results.
Retractions will be clearly marked and directly connected to the original
publication. In some instances, retractions may also be issued to address
mistakes made during submission or publication. The primary goal of retracting
a paper is to correct the scientific record while maintaining the integrity and
credibility of research.
